    Huntcliff Residents Join Talking Heads

Marie Feldman, Bunny and Mel Maron, Norton and Eve Schneps and Julian Yudelson now Zoom each Monday morning at 10:30 to the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta to take part in the Talking Heads discussion group. Talking Heads is a long standing program for adult discussion of both hot (politics, religion, and sex) and cool (families, growing up, memories, travel, etc.) topics.

Each week, the moderator sends out the questions of the week so each participant can prepare their two minute comments. Since Talking Heads is currently via Zoom, there is no charge for participating and participants do not have to be members of the MJCCA. Report from Lisa

Lisa gave the following report on August 5:

  • With all our recent move-ins we remain with 100% of our resident population being fully vaccinated! We continue to require proof of vaccination AND a negative covid test for all our new move-ins.
  • As of July 31st, 100% of our team members have been vaccinated. This is a condition of employment and all new hires are either vaccinated or receive their first shot prior to their first day worked.
  • July 31st was also the vaccination deadline for all Home Health providers, Hospice, and private duty caregivers both independent and those who work for CaraVita, ResCare or any other organization. These decisions were made in the best interest of your health and safety.
  • Face masks are required again. This decision was based on calculations of the spread of the Covid-19 Delta variant for our local area as well as the vaccination rate of people in our area. As of today, the positivity rate for our area jumped to 11.6% and we have a vaccination rate of 28.3% (fully vaccinated) and 51.6% with one shot. Visitation continues to be limited to 2 vaccinated visitors at any given time. Given the current status of high transmission we will temporarily suspend friends and families in the dining room and common area visiting.
  • Guest suites have been made available to vaccinated family members. We have two guest suites and they can be reserved for vaccinated family members by calling the front desk. At this time, we will only be able to provide to-go meals for guests in our guest rooms. This is also subject to change based on the numbers.
  • We have welcomed to our Housekeeping Department Rachel Salima. We have three dining team members Kyteria Woods, Walter Harris, as cooks and Kim Lawson (aka Kim #3) as a server.
  • We are in the process of auditing all storage units. Notices have gone out for you to confirm your assigned storage space. Please check in with the front desk as we will begin removing items from spaces not claimed AND we will be removing any items left outside of storage areas. The walkways in the storage rooms need to be kept free and clear of any items per the fire code.
  • We were able to finalize a deal with a new dry cleaner Tower Cleaners and they will be here on Tuesdays and Fridays around 2:00 so please bring your items down they have provided nice laundry bags for you to use!
  • In the bar area, please avoid congregating in large groups especially as we face this variant. Please refrain from going behind the bar if someone is not there to pour a beverage for you, they will return shortly this is an extension of our kitchen and subject to health department standards. We have recently had residents behind the bar, grabbing a glass and pouring wine and not realizing it was a dirty glass that someone had just returned.
  • When you complete your meal and dessert, please extend the courtesy to your fellow residents who are waiting for a table and continue any conversations in the bar area or any of the elevator lobbies or first floor lobby area.
  • Medications expired or which you no longer take. If you need to dispose of these, Walgreens have medication disposal bins where you can take them for proper disposal.
